Hey, folks. My name is Zack Furness and I am Associate Professor of Communications and Communications Program Coordinator at Penn State University’s Greater Allegheny campus. I’m the author of One Less Car: Bicycling and the Politics of Automobility (Temple University Press, 2010), editor of Punkademics (Minor Compositions & Autonomedia, 2012), co-editor of The NFL: Critical and Cultural Perspectives (Temple University Press, 2014), and I have written for a number of edited collections, journals and non-academic publications including Punk Planet, Bitch Magazine, and Souciant. I was also a longtime editor and contributor to Bad Subjects, one of the pioneering publications on the Internet, and I’ve played in punk bands off and on since 1997 (most recently I sang for BARONS). Lastly, I’m a resident of Pittsburgh, PA, which is my hometown and also the place where I earned my graduate degrees.
If you want to get in touch with me, you can either send an email or hit me up on Twitter (both are linked under ‘Connect with me’, in the menu on your right). Alternatively, you can send a correspondence to the following address:
